CASEY residents are being offered the chance to have their say when it comes to decisions about Casey Hospital.
Southern Health, the operator of Casey Hospital, is recruiting community members who can offer a local perspective to decisions that are made within the local health service.
Those interested can apply to join Southern Health’s Community Advisory Committee.
The committee has input into decisions made about Southern Health’s hospitals and community health services.
Southern Health is Victoria’s largest metropolitan health network.
The service – which also includes Monash Medical Centre Clayton and Moorabbin, Dandenong Hospital and the Kingston Centre – serves a population of more than one million people within the south-eastern suburbs.
The committee is made up of between nine and 14 community members who are appointed for a term of between two and six years depending on the members’ preference.
Sally-Ann Nadj, who has been a member for more than two years, said she takes her role on the committee seriously.
“The Community Advisory Committee gives me access to the decision makers within Southern Health and as those decisions will affect me as a consumer, I feel a sense of contribution and empowerment,” she said.

Applications close on Friday, 18 July.
