A LUCRATIVE seven-year partnership between the Hallam Hawks Junior Football Club and ESP Tecforce is kicking goals for the community.
The employment agency tips $14,000 annually into the club and Hallam president Tony Ferguson said the sponsorship was reaping huge benefits for all involved.
“It helps us run the club, keeps fees down and helps kids play football,” he said.
“We get the majority of our players from Doveton and Hampton Park and the surrounding areas and some struggle to pay their fees, so this money ensures they play football.”
ESP Tecforce’s general manager Donna Rodgers was pivotal in establishing the alliance.
Her son played all his junior football at the Hawks before finishing at the end of last year.
Ferguson’s sons Cameron, 15, and Hayden, 11, also play at the 41-year-old club, and he encourages others to play the sport.
“We’re a very family-oriented and very friendly club. The atmosphere down here is all about the boys enjoying their football,” he said.
“Football is a relay good life experience and teaches you a lot about everything really.”
Hallam has eight teams this season, ranging from under nines to Youth Girls, and since its major sponsor has come on board, all teams have new jumpers.
The Hawks are also holding an auction night at Hallam Recreation Reserve, Frawley Road, on 5 July to further boost the club’s coffers.
