ART enthusiasts are in for a treat as Casey’s Civic Centre Art Space showcases two new exhibitions, Nuts About Life by Deanne Elizabeth Jolley, and Felt Bold by Mali Farnell.
The displays will be on show in the Narre Warren council offices until 30 July.
Ms Jolley’s Nuts About Life creation involves combining stitch, paper collage and silkscreen printing and features images of everyday life using striking colours and a bold design.
“Nuts About Life comes from the things that interest me in the world, the things that I come across every day – Melbourne’s night life, fashion, clothing, stories in the media and politics,” she said.
Fellow artist Ms Farnell said her colourful exhibition, Felt Bold, featured wet felted wearable art, needle-felted jewellery and art dolls.
The fibre artist said she aimed to inspire people to be adventurous in their personal expression of style by incorporating art into everyday wear.
“The creative process is very fascinating. It’s an intuitive process,” she said.
The Civic Centre Art Space is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and entry is free.
