Narre Warren South P-12 College received the team award for the Outstanding School Advancement and the prestigious Lindsay Thompson Award for Excellence in Education at the 2018 Victorian Education Excellence Awards.
The college was shortlisted in two categories including the Outstanding School Advancement and Outstanding Secondary Principal.
“We are all already very proud to be part of the Narre Warren South P-12 College community,” assistant principal Elizabeth Swan said.
“It is a privilege and a joy to come to work every day and lead such an exceptional group of staff and students to achieve excellence in everything they do.
“The team award confirms what we already know – that your postcode does not matter when it comes to doing great things.”
Ms Swan said, “To have been honoured with the Lindsay Thomson Award means that our message goes out to every young person across the state with a dream to achieve.
“With perseverance, respect, integrity and dedication to teamwork, we can all achieve excellence.”
Ms Swan said these awards mean a great deal to the college.
“What we aim to do at Narre Warren South P-12 College is ensure that every student who attends our school has a pathway that fits their interests,” she said.
“We support their academic growth and skill development to see them leave the college with the understanding that they are life-long learners who will continue to aspire to excellence as they enter tertiary study, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment.”
