Fuel thieves getaway in same car

Police are currently investigating a series of incidents of petrol theft involving one vehicle that have occurred in the area. The three incidents occurred as follows:

Unknown offenders attended a service station on Princes Highway in Officer on September 25 in a white BMW 528i sedan that was stolen during an aggravated carjacking in Late September.

CCTV footage captures a woman filling the vehicle with fuel before getting into the rear and leaving without paying.

On 26 September unknown offenders attended a service station on Narre Warren Cranbourne Road in Cranbourne North in the same BMW 528i sedan.

CCTV footage shows a male filling the vehicle with fuel and leaving without paying.

On 25 and 28 September, unknown offenders have attended a service station on High Street, Berwick in the same BMW 528i sedan.

CCTV footage shows two different men filling the vehicle with fuel and leaving without paying on both occasions.

Police have released CCTV still images of three men and a woman they believe can assist with the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed these incidents or believes they have sighted the vehicle, please contact Dandenong Police Station 9767 7440.

Alternatively, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au and quote incident numbers: 180326557, 180327460 and 180329676.

Petrol thieves who fill up then flee will be the focus of a new campaign to help Victoria Police crackdown on fuel theft, thanks to the State Government.

Minister for Police Lisa Neville launched the We See You Too campaign, an almost $100,000 investment which will be delivered by Crime Stoppers Victoria.

The campaign will see anti-theft messaging on fuel nozzles and digital displays at petrol stations and will run across social and media platforms encouraging the community to report fuel thefts to Crime Stoppers.
