Zagames Berwick, MPD Steak Kitchen wins twice at AHA Awards

Zagames Berwick, MPD Steak Kitchen was announced a winner at the 2018 Australian Hotels Association (AHA) State Awards for Excellence held on Tuesday 20 November at Crown.

The restaurant was named Best Pub Restaurant – Metropolitan and chef Chris Bonello was rewarded as Chef of the Year.

Restaurant representatives were honoured at the ceremony in front of 1130 guests and professionals of the hotel industry.

“Winning Best Restaurant at the Annual AHA Awards was truly an indescribable and phenomenal feeling,” Berwick venue manager Marcus Fabian said.

“A true sense of pride prevailed, as we, the team at MPD seek to provide our customers with a unique dining experience that is second to none.

“We believe that consistency is key and every one of our team members executes their craft with creativity, flare and passion.”

Mr Bonello said the restaurants core values are to “create incredible food and provide world-class service”.

“MPD’s menus are solely constructed according to season and our commitment to quality,” Mr Bonello said.

“No thought is spared when it comes to using the best produce that Australia has to offer.”

For the MPD team, according to Mr Fabian, this award is the pinnacle of everything that they work for and what they strive to be.

“Winning Best Restaurant has allowed us to be recognised in the highest regard amongst our industry peers and also the public,” he said.

“To say our team is proud is an understatement. This accolade has given us the boost to continue to bring innovation and exuberant fun to our plates.”

Mr Fabian said he would like to personally thank their customers for supporting MPD and sharing in their vision.
