THE Lions Club of Narre Warren may be small, but the group shows plenty of roar.
If the volunteer community organisation is not serving up snags outside Bunnings or selling Lions Christmas Cakes, it is generally helping someone in need.
But the group can always do with a few more helpers and is now putting out the call for more members.
Club member Christine Titmus said many locals were unaware of the work being carried out by the Lions group, which is focused on helping the community.
“We are a small, friendly club of various ages and backgrounds but all with one aim to help those that need help,” Ms Titmus said.
She said the Narre Warren group had financially supported many local organisations in recent times, including an adult driver education program, Guides groups, a migrant resource centre and Windermere Child and Family Services.
“Even though we are a small club, we are a club dedicated to helping our local community and with this comes a real sense of camaraderie and friendship,” Ms Titmus said.
“All members are active in all that we do to raise funds.”
