Preppies take first steps

All 44 new Haileybury prep students started their first day with some fun activities which allowed them to socialise and make connections with their peers.

Later in the day they had maths and writing sessions as well as a physical education class.

“Our prep students have made a smooth transition into our junior school and settled well into routines and expectations,” head of junior school at Edrington Michele McGill said.

“We had lots of eager, smiling faces as they walked through the door on their first day of school.”

Next week the school will introduce the preps to their Year 4 buddies with a teddy bear’s picnic.

The Berwick Buddies program aims to create an environment where children feel safe, promote positive social relationships between students throughout the junior school and encourage children to actively care for and look out for other children.
