Shoppers have been hit with the 10-cent plastic bag levy this week, as the Australian-first trial began in local supermarkets. Coles, Safeway and IGA supermarkets in Narre Warren, Berwick and Hampton Park started the four-week trial on Monday. The trial will run until 14 September, and the funds raised will be devotedto local environmental projects.
