Car goes into home

Narre Warren SES was called to assist police after a car ploughed into the lounge room of home in Eumemmerring on Monday morning, 3 June.

Police have been told a Volkswagen Golf hatch-back, which was stolen from an address in Hawthorn, crashed into the front lounge room of a house on Doveton Avenue about 1.30am.

The house occupants, a 47-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy, escaped injury. The house however, sustained structural damage.

The driver of the car left the scene prior to police arrival.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined and the search for the driver continues.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the theft of the vehicle.

Narre Warren SES had just arrived at an incident in Narre Warren where a truck carrying a load of timber and plants lost its load on Abeckett Road when they got the call to assist police with the Volkswagen that had driven into a home.

“This was the second car through a house in a matter of days that we’ve responded to,” Narre Warren SES spokesman Aaron Heathcote said.

“Last Wednesday evening a car hit a house in Cranbourne. Thankfully there were no injuries.
