NARRE Warren detectives arrested a 19yearold man from Upper Beaconsfield last week over a series of thefts in the Narre Warren and Berwick areas during June.
The man was charged with seven counts of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle and one count of deception.
He has been bailed to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 2 September.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox of the Narre Warren CIU urged people not to leave expensive items such as computers and mobile phones in their cars.
“We certainly have been targeting car thefts and people stealing from motor vehicles and we will continue to do so,” he said.
AN ENDEAVOUR Hills man was arrested by police last week and will face court on drug charges.
The 51yearold man was interviewed and charged last Friday with two counts of trafficking and possessing heroin and one count of possessing the proceeds of crime.
He has been bailed to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 6 September.
A NIOKA Court home in Endeavour Hills was cleaned out during a burglary on Monday, 25 July.
The attack occurred between 8.45am and 5.45pm after a rear window was levered open for access.
Among the stolen items were a computer, printer, amplifiers, a camera, mobile phone, clothes, jewellery, liquor and perfume.
In total, goods valued at $12,915 were taken during the burglary.
A DECEPTIVE couple has targeted a homeware shop in High Street, Berwick, making off with cash from the till.
The couple entered the store about 4.45pm on Wednesday, 27 July, and the woman distracted staff while her male partner stole the contents of the till.
Detective Sergeant Ian Wilcox of the Narre CIU said the couple was confident in their approach and appeared to be smooth operators.
“Unless they’re caught they’ll do more,” he said.
“It’s probably timely to alert people to keep their cash drawers and tills locked and secured at all times.”
AN ALBANY Court property in Endeavour Hills was stripped of $9000 worth of household goods during a recent burglary.
The breakin happened between 8.30pm and 9.30pm last Saturday.
The occupant arrived back home after a brief exit to find a large amount of jewellery, a camera and perfume missing.
