A charity helping provide hundreds of meals to people in need across Casey has hosted a free ‘street barbeque and grill out’ in Narre Warren.
Casey ADRA cafe said they had planned to hold a fundraiser in Malcom court but decided last minute “to give the whole thing free to community” on Sunday 29 September.
“It was the best decision we’ve made. Everyone was treated equal and no one had to watch their budget,” Casey ADRA cafe spokeswoman Beata Stednik said.
“We had a donation box and those that could gave very generous donations.
“It was a day of blessings for the team and for the community,” she said.
There was also homemade lemonade, car washes, and face painting.
Ms Stednik said it was there aim to build a community that helps each other despite their race, colour or status.
Highway collectors will be out from 19-20 October for the annual ADRA appeal.
