Dance teacher sheds 30 kilos and waltz’s back to health

After seeing a photo of herself taken by her daughter, Belinda Hartney, a Casey dance instructor, was shocked and made the courageous decision to change her lifestyle habits.

The owner of Lind-Elle School of Dance in Narre Warren South had been yo-yo dieting for years until she noticed that her bad habits were creeping up on her.

She has since embarked on a weight loss journey and turned her life around – losing a whopping 30 kilograms.

“I was shocked to see how big I really looked,” Belinda said.

“I am a dance instructor and have always had a fairly fit and active lifestyle, so I could get away with comfort eating for many years.

“Unfortunately, I developed some bad habits during this time and the weight crept on over the later years. Before I knew it, I was close to 100 kilos,” she said.

Belinda, who now weighs 68 kilos, decided to try the 1500 calorie meal plan through Lite n’ Easy which provided the right amount of nutrition for her busy lifestyle.

“I have gone from being a pre-diabetic to a picture of good health. My energy is restored and my knees no longer ache in dance class,” she said.

“The biggest lesson from this experience was re-training my brain in regards to the way junk food has short term results to make you feel good, but with major costs to general health and weight gain”.

A major contributor to Belinda’s weight loss was her six-month commitment to 7-day meal plans from Lite n’ Easy.

During this period, Belinda lost 30 kilograms and has continued to use Lite n’ Easy five days a week, allowing her to both be social with family and friends, as well as maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Belinda’s advice to those seeking to lose weight is to be accountable, committed and drink lots of water.
