FOOTBALL fans will be donning their Melbourne Football Club gear as the club’s players make their debut at Casey Fields in Cranbourne on Saturday 1 November.
General manager of the Melbourne Football Club Chris Connolly told guests at last week’s Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce dinner that the club was looking forward to the 28-year program with the City of Casey.
He said having the club at Casey Fields would put Cranbourne on the international stage.
“We have a young group of players at the club who are keen to build relationships within Casey,” Mr Connolly said.
“Casey Fields is a phenomenal world class sporting facility.”
Mr Connolly said the players would be training at Casey Fields on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 November and then every Tuesday when next year’s season begins.
He said the players would also be involved with the local community through school programs and football clinics.
“Each player has to make around 20 appearances within the community,” he said.
“We’ll also get the coaches, assistant coaches and past players like Garry Lyon to come down to Casey Fields,” Mr Connolly said.
