A NARRE Warren North horticulturist will be showcasing his tankless underground water storage system at this weekend’s Gardening Australia expo.
Darren Schmutter developed the Tankless Underground Rainwater Storage last year after recognising the need for an effective rainwater catchment system as an alternative to rainwater tanks.
Mr Schmutter said he was excited to be apart of the upcoming event held at Caulfield Racecourse from 3 to 5 October.
This year marks the first year the 46-year-old creator has been featured in the exhibition.
The Tankless Underground Rainwater Storage is suitable for both residential and commercial installation, collecting between 2700 and 30,000 litres of water.
Mr Schmutter is a new-comer to the world of conservation.
He ran his own small transport business more than 15 years before completing his diploma of horticulture at Swinburne.
Mr Schmutter then started a landscaping business about seven years ago and developed the tankless concept.
This weekend’s spectacular gardening expo is also bringing ABC’s popular Gardening Australia into life as its presenters will appear on stage to provide advice and answer questions.
Many horticultural and landscape industry experts will be on hand at the informative event, which is for all gardeners, from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts.
