Hunt to find car following shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have released CCTV vision and images of a dark coloured sedan as part of their investigation into a shooting in the Casey area last year.

Police attended Casey Hospital after a 41-year-old man attended with a gunshot wound about 12.30am on 31 July 2019.

He was treated for a non-life-threatening injury to the upper body.

Detectives are still working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting, including what the motivation may have been.

Police say incident appeared targeted, and investigators believe it may have occurred in the Casey area, near the intersection of Shrives Road and Pound Road in the late evening on 30 July.

A dark coloured sedan was seen driving erratically in that area about 11.30pm and police are investigating whether this car may have been linked to the shooting incident.

Detectives wish to speak with the occupants of the vehicle and anyone who may have seen it driving at the time as it’s believed they will be able to assist with enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
