THEFTS from motor vehicles are still on the rise in the City of Casey.
Police said thieves had stolen valuable items from vehicles parked around Parkhill Drive, Prospect Hill Road, and Ernst Wanke Road in Narre Warren, from more than nine cars during one night last week.
Acting Senior Sergeant Terry Lloyd from the Endeavour Hills police station said stolen items included global positioning systems and mobile phones.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Gaskin from the Narre Warren police station said 95 per-cent of offenders looked into cars before they broke in.
“Most of the thefts are smash and grabs and it only takes the offender less than a minute to break in and steal an item,” he said.
