Councillor conduct ‘burns’ Bob

Bob Burns is running for Casey council Bob Burns is running for Casey council

Kelly Yates
AN AGED pensioner has joined the race for a seat on Casey Council.
Narre Warren Chamber of Commerce president Bob Burns said he had put his hand up for the Springfield Ward as he was disgusted at the behaviour of councillors.
“These councillors have been elected to lead the community and they have done the exact opposite,” he said.
“Residents need to accept that change is needed to ensure a better future.”
Mr Burns, who has lived in Narre Warren and Hampton Park and now resides in Berwick, said he had a good understanding of the area.
“I don’t fully understand all of the issues and I don’t have all of the answers but I do have a total commitment to the residents,” he said.
Mr Burns, 68, said he would focus on pensioner issues, suggesting a possible freeze on council rates for two years for seniors in Casey.
He has previously served as president of a basketball association for more than 10 years and has also owned a small business in Narre Warren.
Mr Burns will start his campaign by placing window posters on several businesses in Narre Warren.
“I can’t afford a large campaign. I’m just a guy with sincere intentions,” he said.
