Week of wins for Parkers

HAMPTON Park Bowls Club enjoyed a good week on the greens, collecting three wins, a walkover and only two losses.
The Parkers’ division-four side achieved its first victory at Dandenong RSL Recreation, topping the hosts by four shots.
The team of Les Unwin, Jeff Crozier, Geoff Ampt and skip Neville Hendrie led the charge with a convincing 23-shot win.
Vince Kovacic, Sean McDonald, Andrew Brandolin and skip Lionel Williams were unable to match the result, losing by 14 shots, but Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Ken Cobden and skip Bob Woodfield’s managed to hang on for a seven-shot success.
Jim Westwell, Fred McBrian, Larry Simpson and skip Geoff Ladner made a slow start and suffered a 12-shot defeat.

The two clubs’ second sides matched up at Dandenong RSL Recreation, with the Parkers claiming three of the four rinks for a 57-shot victory.
Bob Naismith led his team to a 35-shot win with Bill Webb and Greg Pentland following suit by 19 and 15 shots respectively.
Rob Woff’s team went down by 12 shots.

@BT Sub Sport News:VLBA A2 AND VLBA DIVISION TWO, SECTION THREE

The Parkers had a tough time against Berwick in VLBA A2 and VLBA Division 2 Section 3.
The former fell 74 shots short, but Hampton Park was able to put up a better show in the latter contest.
June Damon, Shirley Burnside, Ellen Smith and skip Heather Naismith clung to a narrow lead to win by five shots.
The wheels fell off after end 15 for Gail Wilcock, Gail Williams, Christine Hendrie and skip Helen Lambert when they could only add two more shots to their score.
Scores: Berwick (2) 2/49 d Hampton Park 0/36.

The Parkers began the season with a 16-shot success over Noble Park at Burden Park.
Arthur Parish, Ray Wood, Ann Westwell and skip Andrew Brandolin saw their big lead reduced to eight shots.
Vince Kovacic, Sean McDonald, Christine Hendrie and skip Geoff Ladner conceded the win on the last end by two shots.
Keith McCarthy, Jim Westwell, Geoff Ampt and skip Neville Hendrie had only one blemish for the night in a 10-shot triumph.
Scores: Hampton Park 10/75 d Noble Park 2/59.
