Berwick News in top spot again

THE Berwick News won the coveted Golden Albert at the Star News Group All Stars awards last weekend.
The award, which recognises the SNG newspaper of the year, was judged on editorial content – including hard news, sport and local relevance – quality of advertisements, layout and design, classified content, revenue growth and a contribution to the company’s success.
It is the second successive year Berwick News has claimed the title.
All Star News Group and Yarra Valley News newspapers were automatically entered into the award.
News sports reporter Marc McGowan was also inducted into the Star News Group Headliner Club which is a special achievement award recognising quality of work, meeting deadlines, teamwork and accuracy.
Managing director Paul Thomas said the Berwick News continued to provide quality reporting for its residents.
“The magnificent team on the Berwick News should be commended, from the editorial department through to production and advertising,” he said.
