Cash support gives help at the right time

HELP could not have come at a better time for the Cranbourne Information and Support Service (CISS).
The Lawson Poole Daylight Lodge presented a cheque for $2000 to the CISS on Tuesday.
Members of the Lawson Poole Daylight Lodge No. 916 raised $1000 through activities during the year, including sausage sizzles and monthly dances.
Freemasons Victoria, the governing body of the Lawson Poole Daylight Lodge, contributed $1000 to the donation, on a dollar for dollar basis from their Benevolent Fund.
CISS manager Leanne Petrides said the support of the group was invaluable during a time when the support service was busier than ever.
“We could not support the people if a group like yours did not support us,” she said.
“Sometimes a $30 food voucher is enough to get people over one hurdle.
“I thank you for this wonderful donation.”
Secretary of the group Bernie Rampton said it was important for members to know the money would directly help community members.
“Some people in Cranbourne are in dire straits at the moment, especially as Christmas approaches,” Mr Rampton said.
“On behalf of our volunteers, but also on behalf of the community (members) that don’t get a chance to have a voice- thank you very much,” Ms Petrides said
