200 hit the pitch

OVER 200 players and parents attended Cardinia United Junior Soccer Club’s final training session at Pakenham’s Toomuc Reserve on Sunday.
Players from different age groups competed in small-sided games against parents.
There were a few red faces after an hour of all-out action, but no scores were kept and the proceedings came to a climax with a penalty shootout against parent goalkeepers.
A ball juggling competition followed the matches.
Rhys and Billy won the 10-and-under and 11-and-under age groups in the ball juggling competition. Rhys won a portable soccer goal for his efforts, while Billy’s performance in keeping the ball in the air with 38 touches was rewarded with a Melbourne Victory cap.
Bendigo Community Bank Lakeside president David Impey also presented the club with a cheque.
The club is in recess until its registration day at its new facility at Lakeside Oval in Cardinia Road, Pakenham, on Sunday 8 February.
