School choir tuned up for first show

By Rebecca Fraser
THE Berwick Lodge Primary School choir performed publicly for the first time this year when it entertained residents of the Berwick Private Nursing Home last Friday.
Thirty students from the choir have been rehearsing weekly to tune-up their voices in readiness to go public.
The group of singers first performed at a school assembly to celebrate the school’s 15th birthday in May and performing arts teacher Stephanie Stewart said the students were very enthusiastic and committed to their choir.
“Together they have developed their talents and performance skills and learned how to use their voices effectively while creating a repertoire of songs from a variety of genres.
“Our performance for the residents of the Berwick Private Nursing Home had a Christmas Down-Under theme.
“We hope everyone enjoyed our Aussie Christmas songs and sing along with some of the all-time-favourite traditional carols,” Ms Stewart said.
