NARRE Warren batsmen performed well last week, setting St Mary’s a good target.

Narre Warren hosted St Mary’s on what turned out to be a good wicket and Narre Warren won the toss and batted, finishing with 9/255. Michael Sigaras was the pick of the bats with 87, Dimitri Dimakopoulos made 42, Chris Jarrett 41 and Dwayne Scott 35.

Narre Warren travelled to Sandown Park, won the toss and batted. After a steady start Narre was 2/62 at 30 overs, Martin Green making 25, before quick wickets were lost and a precarious 6/78 was the score at tea. After tea only Craig Caarels (42) and Matt Darvell (13 not out) got the score to 138 all out. After seven overs at Sandown Park the score was 1/23 at the close, Ben Charles taking the wicket.

Playing Parkfield away, Narre Warren won the toss and elected to bowl. After a slow start wickets started to fall and Parkfield was all out for 212 with an over to spare. Best of the bowlers was Craig Jensen-Schmidt (4/44 off 16 overs) and trump card Ryan Collins took 2/3 off three overs. Narre was 0/0 in reply.

Playing Berwick, we won the toss and bowled. Due to misfortunes and sloppy fielding Narre had to work hard all day to keep Berwick to 5/170. Best of the bowlers were Joel Kent with 2/21 and Roman Jutoff with 1/21. Everyone else worked hard, giving away no more than 30 runs.

In the round-six match St Mary’s batted first but was restricted from the start by outstanding bowling and fielding. At drinks St Mary’s was 3/29 off 23 overs. This continued into the last session, St Mary’s finishing 8/83 off 47 overs. Best of the bowlers was Nathan King with 2/3.

Playing Keysborough, Narre Warren was asked to bowl and Keysborough got off to a flying start. Narre Warren then started taking wickets and fielding well. At close of play Keysborough was all out for 152. There were two outstanding performances, Dylan Henry’s four catches and a wicket and Mitchell Arter’s 6/23 off five overs, including three wickets in four balls.

After winning the toss and batting, Narre Warren started poorly, losing 2/4, but good batting by David Santalucia (25 not out) and Daniel Druch (23) helped Narre Warren bat out 40 overs for 118.

Narre Warren Joeys Black played at Sweeney Reserve, Hampton Park winning the toss and batting. In a much improved fielding display Narre kept Hampton Park to 51 off 22 overs. The best of the bowlers were Cameron Skurrie (1/1), Nathan Sirikuma (1/4), Dhakshitha Gamawalawwe (0/4) Daniel Chaplin (0/2). Narre Warren got a great start with Michael Thomson making eight, Jayden Bosman and Paul Moreland four each and Zach Allen five.
