Cranbourne bats buckle

DAY one of the final round for the year was disappointing for Cranbourne Cricket Club’s turf-one side’s bats and brought mixed results for the club’s other teams in the Dandenong and District competition.

Cranbourne was bowled out for 112 against Springvale South.
The highlight was Ross Woodall’s 26 along with Dan Hunt’s innings in which he worked hard for 16 runs not out at number five.

Wickets fell in quick succession to leave Cranbourne all out for only 66.
Silverton cruised past the target, ending the day 3/138. Aaron Morrison took 2/13 to be the best of the bowlers.

Cranbourne was dismissed for 139 against Springvale South, with Brad Stephens, in his first A-grade game, batting well for 36 and Peter Kelly the other main contributor with 28 not out.

Wil Hameeteman with 45 and Mark Woodall 36 in his first hit for the year, saw Cranbourne to a competitive 169 against HSD.

In Cranbourne’s total of 193 against St Mary’s, M. Andolfatto scored 44 and R. Craven 36 not out, with R. Craven and N. Kelly putting on a 50-run partnership for the last wicket.

Cranbourne had a long day in the field with a number of dropped catches allowing Doveton to smash its way to 385 with two batsmen making centuries.
Troy Kimball was the best of the bowlers, taking 5/121 off 22 overs.

Gavin Roscoe, 50 not out and Caspa Taylor 36, got Cranbourne to 184 that proved too much for Narre Warren being bowled out for 118.
Daniel Fox 4/30 and Jason Disher 3/18 ripped through Narre Warren’s batsmen.

@BT Sub Sport News:UNDER 17

Cranbourne ones were all out for 143 against Berwick with D. Hunt 35, D Nieuwesteeg 26 and J Hameeteman 21 the main contributors.
In the under 17 (2) team Brad Stephens was in top form with 60 not out to help his side to 124 against North Dandenong.

Against Hampton Park in under-15 (1), Cam Kelly hit 83 not out and Justin Hinkley 56 not out with both coming back in after retirement, to see Cranbourne to the huge total of 270.
Under 15 (2) Gold played Blue, with Blue reaching 109 led by Troy Kimball 24 and Steve McInnes 18.
Gold bowling was headed by D. Baker 2/5 and A. Ciantar 2/8.
Cranbourne under 15 (3) ripped through Hampton Park for 25, with M. Legallienne 4/4 being the destroyer. He then made 53 not out in a day to remember, with Cranbourne declaring at the end of the day at 3/164. J. Poole also made 53 not out.

@BT Sub Sport News:UNDER 13

Excellent bowling and fielding restricted Fountain Gate to 120 in the under 13 (1) match. Cam Petrie 3/13, Nick Travaglia 2/8 and Todd Roscoe 2/8 bowled magnificently.
Under 13 (2) Blue went from 1/33 to crumble and be all out for 51. North Dandenong was 2/11 at stumps.
Under 13 (2) Gold put in a solid batting display with Z. Guille 28 not out, T. Hunt 29 and N. Lambden 28 enabling Cranbourne to reach 166 against Narre North.
Cranbourne under 13 (3) scored a total of 158 against Fountain Gate with Jeremy Ciantar 31 not out and Sam Smith 27 not out.

@BT Sub Sport News:UNDER 11

The Blue team played well with Joseph Stockdale taking 4/14, Brodie McLean 3/7 and Jake Smith 3/27 bowling superbly.
In the Gold team, Todd Reynolds made 11 not out, Tom Jellie nine and Martin Leinmueller eight with all batting brilliantly. Trent Stoneman and Jayden Wyborn also bowled well.
