HERITAGE in the City of Casey will be secured following a State Government funding boost of $3000.
Casey is one of 52 councils to share in $400,000 in grants, as part of the Government’s heritage grants program for 2008 and 2009.
The funds will be used to digitise heritage records, with information from the City of Casey’s heritage study stored electronically in an online database managed by Heritage Victoria.
Advice will be provided on colour schemes, restorations and researching the history of a property. Councils will match the grants dollar for dollar.
The information will be made available to the public through the Victorian Heritage Database online at www.heritage.vic.gov.au.
