HALLAM-Kalora Park’s top form hit a roadblock at Cranbourne’s Casey Fields on Saturday in round nine of the Dandenong District Cricket Association’s turf-one competition.
It was a day for bowlers on both teams, as the visitors reversed their recent sensational form to collapse with the bat, but turned the game around with the ball.
It was a different story at Sweeney Reserve as top side Springvale South raced to first-innings points against Narre Warren.

@BT Sub Sport News:Doveton v Buckley Ridges

Buckley Ridges suffered against an inspired bowling attack at Doveton’s Robinson Reserve on Saturday.
Led by Matthew Hutchinson, the Doves’ bowlers ripped through the opposition batsmen, dismissing the side for 125.
Hutchinson took 4/40 off 16 overs to claim the best figures and he had good support from captain Bradley Downe (2/10 off 11.4) and Corrie Wilson (2/31 off 15).
For Buckley Ridges, ’keeper Suren Ekanayake offered the best resistance with the bat, posting 31, while number-10 Matthew Goodwright helped the total with a last-ditch 29.

@BT Sub Sport News:Coomoora v Keysborough

An even century to Matthew Wenke helped Coomoora gain the upper hand against Keysborough at Coomoora Reserve.
Wenke and fellow opener Andrew King (44) got the ball rolling with a strong 90-run opening partnership before King fell.
Wenke pushed on to his century and when he fell, the middle order continued on from his good work and David Nutting (51) and Mevan Fernando (36) helped guide the score towards 300.
For Keysborough, Paul McDonald took 3/103 off 29 overs and Damian Stoter-Rainer picked up 2/22 off four.

@BT Sub Sport News:Cranbourne v Hallam-Kalora Park

It was a bowlers’ day at Cranbourne’s Casey Fields Oval, with both Cranbourne and Hallam-Kalora Park struggling to make an impact with the bat.
Hallam-Kalora Park batted first, but found the going tough as Cranbourne’s Shane Murdoch blasted through the order with the ball.
Murdoch claimed incredible figures of 6/34 off 26.5 blistering overs, helping crush the visitors for 121.
Kyle Brooke also featured in the bowling, picking up 3/35 off his 18 overs.
But if the home side thought it would have an easy run-chase, it was certainly wrong.
Cranbourne came to the crease as the Booth boys – Leigh and Cory – took the new ball for Hallam-Kalora Park.
Leigh took 2/27 off eight overs, but it was Cory who did the real damage, picking up 3/1 off seven overs and Cranbourne slumped to 5/29 at the close of play.

@BT Sub Sport News:Narre Warren v Springvale South

Top side Springvale South wasted no time in claiming first-innings points against Narre Warren at Narre’s Sweeney Reserve on Saturday and will push for an outright victory this weekend.
Narre Warren took to the crease first, but had little to offer against Springvale South’s attack.
The visitors skittled the home side for 99 runs, with regular star Wendell Perumal (28) and David Wheeler (27) the only batsmen to show any resistance.
In reply, it took Springvale South’s opening pair of Steven Masterson (42 not-out) and Rory Ingram (51 not-out) just 29 overs to breeze past the total, with the side 0/101 at the close of play.

@BT Sub Sport News:Berwick v North Dandenong

Berwick and North Dandenong are locked in an even battle at Arch Brown Reserve, with Berwick chasing 207 for first-innings points.
The visitors struggled with the bat across the board, with Carman Mapatuna (108) and Scott Neeson (51) the only exceptions to the rule.
The pair put on a 102-run partnership to help the side to a respectable total, but when Neeson fell, Mapatuna had to increase the run-rate as he quickly ran out of partners.
In the end Mapatuna’s wicket was the final one to fall, at the hands of Berwick’s Alecs Roberts.
For the bowlers, James Prendergast was the pick of the bunch, taking 4/47 off 16 overs.
In reply, Berwick reached 2/38 at the close of play, with Roberts not-out on 22.

@BT Sub Sport News:Maranatha Methodist v Fountain Gate

A captain’s knock from Maranatha Methodist’s Brett Ernst does not appear to be enough to save his side from surrendering first-innings points to Fountain Gate at Maranatha’s Strathaird Reserve.
Ernst hit an unbeaten 80 from number-five, combining with Mark Nelson (28) for a 60-run fourth-wicket partnership, but it was the only support he had through the innings as the side fell all out for 141.
Fountain Gate’s David Lucas was the destroyer, ripping through the middle and lower orders to pick up 6/43 off 18.3 overs.
In reply, Fountain Gate cruised to 2/112 at the close of play and looks on track to claim the points with Jarryd Murrian (31 not-out) and Robert Mullen (25 not-out) at the crease.

@BT Sub Sport News:Dandenong West v HSD

HSD has a lot of work ahead of it on Saturday if it is to prevent Dandenong West from taking the points in their clash at Dandenong’s Greaves Reserve, after the home side posted 9/302 on day one of their clash.
A Greg Siwes (104) century at the top of the order got the innings off to a flier and he combined with David Weerden (64) for a 145-run second-wicket partnership to give the innings a boost.
Dandenong West’s bowlers took plenty of punishment, though Paul Stockdale can hold his head high after picking up 4/93 off 17 overs.

@BT Sub Sport News:St Brigid’s/St Louis v Hampton Park

Hampton Park is on track to claim first-innings points against St Brigid’s/St Louis after some impressive performances on day one of their clash at Bondi Oval.
The home side batted first, but could only manage 132 against a vicious Hampton Park bowling attack, led by young gun Jonathan Rudge.
Rudge picked up 4/30 off 15 overs as St Brigid’s/St Louis crumbled to be all out for 132.
In reply, Hampton Park wasted no time with the bat, powering to 2/114 at stumps.
Danny Cortese remains unbeaten on 67, while Travis Lacey (38) provided a handy knock at the top of the order.

@BT Sub Sport News:Under 21

The Dandenong District Cricket Association Under 21 side defeated City of Moorabbin in the Neil Wright Shield grand final on Sunday.
City of Moorabbin batted first and posted 9/184 that the DDCA boys comfortably overhauled, with six wickets to spare.
Daniel Papa (Keysborough) led the scoring with 44, along with Daniel Watson (Buckley Ridges) with 40 not-out and Ryan Pearson (Doveton), who hit 37.
Three DDCA players have been selected to represent the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union in a representative match against the Victorian Country Cricket League this Sunday.
Daniel Watson (Buckley Ridges) will captain the side, with Simon Fonceca (Buckley Ridges) and Tim Ford (Springvale South) also earning selection.
