PAINTINGS, drawings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics and jewellery are on show at a new art gallery in Narre Warren North.
Artgallop, which is run by artist Rosalind Meadmore, opened its doors to the public last month.
Featuring creations ranging from $5 to $50,000, the free gallery is set in a Quaker Barn adjacent to Lysterfield Lake Park.
Ms Meadmore describes the galley as being “eclectic”.
“There is a variety of artwork that I have collected over the past 50 years, some of it inherited and some that I have purchased,” she said.
Ms Meadmore has been perfecting her art skills for the past seven years after completing a Diploma of Visual Arts and a Diploma of Ceramic Art.
The 69-year-old artist says she draws her inspiration from everything.
“I love looking at modern art because it makes you think,” she said.
“And you don’t have to know what it’s about. It’s purely about interpretation.”
Ms Meadmore is encouraging young up and coming artists to hold an open art show in the Narre Warren North based gallery.
“Budding artists can hire a section of the gallery or the whole gallery to showcase their work to the public,” she said.
Artgallop is open to the community on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from midday to 5pm.
