HAMPTON Park Bowls Club handled the heat a little bit better than home team Burden Park in its 28-shot victory in RVBA division-four action.
Sean McDonald, Graham Slight, Zac Storm and skip Lionel Williams won 23-22 and Jim Westwell, Jeff Crozier, Geoff Ampt and skip Neville Hendrie offered good support on the next rink with a 28-15 success.
Pat Moevasa, Lance Davis, Ken Cobden and skip Bob Woodfield lost 32-33 on the last end, while Fred McBrian, Arthur Parish, Larry Simpson and Geoff Ladner overcame a shaky start to produce a 32-17 triumph.

The Parkers received walkovers against Mount Waverley and Bentleigh in division-six and eight respectively. Hampton Park’s VLBA Division A2 side had a 67-shot victory at home against Burden Park (2) with wins on all four rinks.
Dot Carr, Ray Wood, Grace Hogan and skip Gwen Clough dropped a seven near the end and had to settle for a draw, while Mavis Kelly, Shirley Burnside, Ellen Smith and Heather Naismith enjoyed a 33-shot success.
Arthur Parish, Gail Wilcock, Gail Williams and Christine Hendrie won by nine shots, with Joyce Cameron, June Damon, Ann Westwell and skip Mary Hose winning on their rink by 25 shots.

It was a tough game for the Parkers in the SDELBA division-four night competition, with only one rink getting up in their 22-shot win against Elsternwick Park.
Arthur Parish, Ray Wood, Andrew Brandolin and skip Geoff Ladner dropped a few ends at the finish to go down by one shot, while Ray Leggett, Jim Westwell, Christine Hendrie and skip Neville Hendrie dropped 10 shots in three ends to lose by three. Keith McCarthy, Sean McDonald, Geoff Ampt and skip Lance Davis had a 26-shot triumph.
