A Zoom ‘with one voice’

The With One Voice choirs help to bridge social disadvantage.

By Danielle Kutchel

Creativity Australia – the organisation behind With One Voice community choirs – is inviting anyone interested in its programs to join a special mass zoom meet-and-greet with its conductors.

On Tuesday 24 August at 5.30pm, eight With One Voice conductors will take a seat on the Zoom event, offering their smiley faces to those interested in the choirs.

According to Creativity Australia, the With One Voice program helps to “bridge the gap between people experiencing disadvantage and those more fortunate through the neuro-scientific benefits of community singing”.

The choirs are empowering and help combat social isolation.

The Zoom will include singing, smiles, fun and prizes.

With One Voice choirs operate in most states across Australia and are suitable for people aged 9-90, from all walks of life.

They are led by professional conductors and meet weekly.

Creativity Australia is currently offering seed funding grants of up to $10,000 for communities to start their own With One Voice choir.

To join the mass Zoom event, go to https://zoom.us/j/96619650344?pwd=cVpocjJPTTgyYklBOGptNXFsU1hkZz09 and use Meeting ID 966 1965 0344 and passcode 907952.
