HAMPTON Park residents are encouraged to do their local environment a favour by participating in Clean Up Australia Day at the River Gum Creek Reserve.
The Friends of the River Gum Creek Reserve host the annual event, and invite all residents to come along to do their bit for the environment on 1 March.
Member Warren Calder said it was a good opportunity for the community to come together for the day.
“We usually get about 30 to 40 full bags of rubbish,” Mr Calder said.
“Quite a lot of families come down for the day, and we often get people who are just walking by and decide to help out.”
The Hampton Park Progress Association will provide a free sausage sizzle for all participants after the clean-up, about midday.
People who want to participate in the clean-up can meet at the reserve in Hampton Park on Coral Drive, opposite Edeys Run, at 10am.
For details call Warren Calder on 0439 513 240.
