Support following the 2021 storms

Cardinia Shire Council recovery officers, along with Windermere and Anglicare are available to help Cardinia residents access support services in the wake of the wild weather experienced in 2021.

Affected residents are encouraged to visit the Hills Hub on Wednesday 15 December from 2pm to 5.30pm or Cockatoo IGA on Thursday 16 December to chat with recovery officers and to meet with representatives from Windermere and Anglicare who can support their recovery.

The sessions are intended for those who have concerns about insurance and rebuilding, accessing mental health support including trauma counselling, financial loss and impacts to businesses, property clean up, and accessing and navigating recovery programs and services.

Windermere and Anglicare can help with information and support to connect with local services, advocacy for priority access if required, assistance with completing applications and paperwork for grants, financial support case management and care coordination, mental health support, and outreach visits by our staff with other services.

Recovery officers are also available every Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm at the Hills Hub at 402 Belgrave-Gembrook Rd, Emerald.

If you can’t attend on the day, you can contact Windermere on 0408 521 320 and Anglicare on 1800 809 722 to organise an appointment.

For more information about storm recovery and to subscribe to Cardinia’s storm recovery newsletter visit Council’s website.
