A cyclist has died this morning following a fatal hit-run collision in Hampton Park.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses of the incident.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Hallam and Pound Road at about 4.30am on Thursday 6 January following reports of the collision.

The driver of a vehicle failed to stop after colliding with the cyclist, a man in his 50’s, who later died at the scene.

Detectives at the scene continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and appeal to anyone with information to come forward.

Motorists are advised Hallam Road is closed north and south bound, while Pound Road is closed west bound.
