A 29-year-old man who was taken in custody on Friday 7 January as part of an investigation into a fatal hit-run collision in Hampton Park has been released by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
The Endeavour Hills man was interviewed by investigators and released pending further enquiries.
The investigation into the death of a 58-year-old cyclist on Thursday 6 January continues.
The cyclist was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike near the intersection of Hallam and Pound roads at about 4.30am.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop after colliding with the cyclist and the vehicle suspected of being involved was set alight a short time later in a Glen Waverley car park.
