PAMPER packs filled with women’s toiletries have created some relief for women who lost everything on Black Saturday.
Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs, in association with the Victorian Country Women’s Association (CWA), donated over 2500 pamper packs to the value of $125,000 to bushfire victims.
The pamper packs consisted of basic women’s toiletries including towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and sanitary items.
CWA members have distributed the packs and much needed supplies to many bushfire victims in communities across Victoria.
Manager of Fernwood Narre Warren Helen Bowman said it has been amazing to see how communities and groups have rallied together to offer their help.
“We have all been deeply saddened by the tragic bushfires in Victoria and our hearts go out to all the families that have been affected,” she said.
“We have been inundated with support from our members and hope that this small gesture of a pamper pack will help many women, girls and babies that have been left without the basic toiletries that we all take for granted.”
Active long-term member of Fernwood Samar Agha grew up in the Whittlesea area. She said she was emotionally affected by the devastation the bush fires caused and wanted to offer her support by donating the toiletries.
“At Fernwood Narre Warren, it was decided hampers with toiletries and household goods were our offering,” she said.
“I gave with all my heart and didn’t think about the cost, I tried to put myself in their shoes and purchased goods I know will be appreciated and much needed.”
