A DOVETON man has created a replica of the Delorean Time Machine featured in the hit movies Back to the Future.
Braun Mennusko told the News the car was identical to the one in the Back to the Future trilogy.
The vehicle is made of fibreglass and stainless-steel panels.
The 44-year-old has taken part in many car shows and promotional and charity events, with the time machine vehicle attracting interest from people of all ages.
“People go crazy over the car. I had one man literally slam his brakes on and skid just to catch a sneak peek at the car,” Mr Mennusko said.
“Truly it was the most amazing reaction I’ve had.”
Like in the movies,Mr Mennusko considers himself to be a budding scientist.
“I’m a bit of a mad scientist and a successful inventor of all sorts on the home front,” he said.
In the Back to the Future films, the mad scientist’s name is Doc Brown and according to Mr Mennusko, his friends have dubbed him Doc Braun.
“There’s a funny twist so the name stuck and now I present the car at the shows as Doc Braun,” he said.
Mr Mennusko says he has the largest collection of Back to the Future merchandise, from original pieces to one-off custom-made items.
He has original screen props from the films and a complete autographic collection from the stars of the movies.
Mr Mennusko showcased the car in Dandenong last weekend at Supercheap Auto.
