Driver tests positive to methamphetamine

A 36-year-old has been caught with drugs and knives in his unregistered car.

SD3 High-Risk Driving Unit members observed a black Audi sedan without registration plates on Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road in Narre Warren South at around 10:30pm on Sunday 6 February.

Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the 36-year-old driver.

Enquiries revealed the registration on the car had been cancelled as of 2019, making it unregistered.

The driver also provided a positive oral fluid test to methamphetamine.

With the assistance of Narre Warren uniform members, officers searched the car and located a quantity of drugs, three knives and two large poles.

The man was arrested by Narre Warren police and brought to the Narre Warren Police Station, where he is expected to be charged with possession of methamphetamine and dangerous articles as well as failing an oral fluid test.
