Upgrade for Endeavour Hills Library

The City of Casey has received $54,000 in funding for the Endeavour Hills Library Renewal Project as part of the State Government’s 2021/22 Living Libraries Infrastructure Program grants.

With Council contributing $36,000, the $90,000 project will include modernising the service desk and self-check station to create an accessible entrance, a new dedicated meeting room and re-purposing floor space.

Recognising the important role public libraries play in strengthening communities, City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM has welcomed the much-needed funding.

“We thank the Victorian Government for its investment into this important community library, which we know plays a vital role in community connection and will benefit Casey’s many future generations,” said Ms Duff.

This funding will assist in enriching customer experiences, connect community groups, enable flexibility and innovative programming, and create quiet study workspaces, while meeting multi-generational needs.

With over 123,500 annual visitors using the services of the Endeavour Hills Library (prior to Covid-19), Casey Cardinia Libraries CEO Beth Luppino, also welcomed the funding, noting how vital it is to ensure libraries continue to meet the community’s needs.

“Investing in libraries delivers high social-economic returns on investment,” Ms Luppino said. It is so important that our community has beautiful, safe and welcoming spaces to enjoy.”

“We look forward to this project commencing so we can continue to develop these vital community spaces for all users to enjoy”.

Construction on the project will begin in June 2022 with completion expected by December 2022.
