MAGICIAN Elio Simonetti and partner Eva Salleh will entertain audiences with ‘The Magic Show’ at Centro Cranbourne this week.
Their presentation combines illusions with visual performance that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
“Audiences are always surprised that our show isn’t what they anticipated,” Mr Simonetti said. “So they should expect the unexpected.”
Mr Simonetti developed an interest in the magical at the age of 10.
“I used to wash cars for pocket money, and I was asked to wash a dozen caravans that belonged to a circus passing through town,” he said.
“I thought the (magician’s) act was the most marvellous thing I’d ever seen. So I decided right there to become a magician.”
The first illusion he mastered was the escape, which involved having his wrist bound with a chain and secured by a padlock. Within moments he would release himself.
By age 15, Mr Simonetti was performing as a professional conjurer. He continued to astound audiences, and for the past 14 years, the duo have taken the show all over the world.
The magical couple could be seen in “the Magic Show” for free at Centro Cranbourne Shopping Centre until 11 April, at 11am and 1pm daily.
