POLICE are hunting two men who assaulted a taxi driver and stole his car over the weekend.
It is believed the taxi driver had stopped outside an address in Scotsburn Way, Endeavour Hills, to drop off two passengers around 1.45am on Saturday 18 April.
As they arrived at the address a dispute occurred regarding payment and the taxi driver exited the vehicle to speak to the men.
While standing at the rear of the taxi, it is alleged the two men assaulted the driver before getting into his car and driving it through a gate into a nearby reserve.
The driver of the stolen vehicle lost control and collided with a fence before continuing on and attempting to crash through another barrier, where the taxi has then become stuck.
Both men fled the vehicle and ran off through the reserve.
Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the men.
The taxi driver was taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
