Works on track

A MULTI-million dollar Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road project is well on its way to completion.
The duplication of the road from Centre Road to Pound Road Narre Warren begun in July last year is expected to be completed within eight months.
“Work is currently progressing well,” acting project director David Lewis said. “It is expected to be completed on budget by the end of 2009.”
The project features two lanes each way between Centre Road and Pound Road, a shared user path along southbound lanes, median breaks at Mack Road and Lansell Close, and new lighting between Centre Road and Mack Road and between Lansell Close and Pound Road.
Ms Lewis said VicRoads was attempting to minimise disruption to drivers and the community while finishing the project.
“VicRoads makes every effort to minimise disruption to the community during the works and we’ve been able to maintain direct access to properties throughout construction,” he said. “VicRoads is in regular contact with residents and will continue to be throughout the project.”
A project update was distributed to residents in November 2008 and VicRoads will continue to provide updates to keep the local community aware of progress.
Ms Lewis said VicRoads welcomed feedback and has been pleased to receive positive responses about the project.
