THE Cranbourne turf-one team was convincingly beaten at home by Springvale South on Saturday in a disappointing end to 2005.
Springvale South cruised past Cranbourne’s total of 112, closing on 5/149, with Jason Toan the best of the bowlers taking 2/64.
TURF THREE
Dieter Leinmueller starred with the ball taking 5/58 while Aaron Morrison with 4/35 was a great back-up, however it was not enough to gain a win over Silverton, which scored 3/139 and 9/192 in its second dig.
Cranbourne averted an outright loss, finishing its second innings on 5/77 with Leigh Angus on 21 not out.
A GRADE
Springvale South cruised to a comfortable victory closing on 7/211 in reply to Cranbourne’s 139.
Best of the bowlers was Ty Edwards with 2/36 and Scott Christian with 2/53.
C GRADE
The Cranbourne side dropped too many catches and lost the game against HSD, which won by 21 runs.
Man of the match was under-15 Wil Hameeteman who made 45 and backed it up with 3/35.
D GRADE
The game against St Mary’s finished in a draw with rain coming late in the day stopping it at 8/176 chasing 193.
Cranbourne’s Glen Dickinson 3/39 and Silvio Marinelli 3/49 were the pick of the bowlers.
E GRADE
Cranbourne chased Doveton’s massive total of 386 for victory and put up a good fight, making 8/276.
Dennis Kimball with 94 batted splendidly and Troy Kimball chipped in with a well-made 54.
UNDER 17
Berwick was too good for Cranbourne, despite the efforts of Dan Hunt with 35 and Ben Redgen 2/20 who was best with the ball.
The under 17/2 team put in a great bowling performance against North Dandenong, backing up Brad Stephens’ fine innings of 60 last week, to win the game.
UNDER 15
Cranbourne put in an outstanding bowling and fielding performance to gain outright points over Hampton Park with Jesse Fitzgerald taking 3/10 in the first innings, Ben Hall 2/21 and Dean McDonnell 2/10 in the second innings.
The under 15/2 Gold team resumed against the Blues in a tight contest. The Blues proved too strong with Shaun Keenan 27 giving Gold a great chance, but Jordan Leinmueller 3/22 sealing the game for Blue.
Cranbourne under 15 (3) had another outright win against Hampton Park. M. Legallienne had a game to remember with 53 not out and 4/4 with the ball.
UNDER 13
Cranbourne had a great win over Fountain Gate to remain undefeated. Chasing 120 the side made 186 led by Adam Hanger with 70 and Nick Travaglia who made 21.
The under 13/2 Gold team’s win over Narre North was highlighted by the bowling of Nathan Lambden who took 5/3 including a hat-trick in the first innings and 3/4 in the second innings.
Under 13/2 Blue was beaten comprehensively by North Dandenong despite Josh Morrison taking 2/16 and making 11.
The under 13/3 team was defending 158 against Fountain Gate and in trouble with the opposition at 0/92 at drinks. Cranbourne lifted to have Fountain Gate all out for 134.
Taylor Ross took four catches, Jeremy Ciantar took 3/5, Alex Luscombe 3/15 and Sam Marinelli 2/10.
UNDER 11
The under-11 Blues’ Joseph Stockdale took 4/14, Brodie McLean 3/7 and Jake Smith 3/27, while the best of the batsmen were Harley Miller 10, Matthew Crozier 8 and Brodie McLean 8.
In the under 11 Gold team, the best of the bowlers was Jayden Wyborn with 2/25 and Trent Stoneman 2/29.
