A SEEING Eye dog had its tail trapped in a carriage door on the train between Hallam and Narre Warren on Monday.
Connex spokeswoman Lanie Harris said passengers in the Pakenham-bound train pushed the red emergency button to alert the driver that there was a problem. “The driver brought the train to a stop at the next available safe opportunity, and attended to the dog and to the vision impaired passenger,” she said.
Ms Harris said the safety mechanism on the train may not have been triggered if just the tip of the dog’s tail was trapped in the door.
“We are looking at CCTV footage to determine what actually happened, and how we can prevent this from happening in future.”
