Since Pfizer was made available to children aged six to eleven years old in early January, 54.8 per cent of people in that age bracket have received their first dose – 4.2 per cent more than the national average.
In the City of Casey, 52.4 per cent of people have rolled up their sleeve and in the nearby Cardinia Shire Council, just 49.4 per cent have received the vaccine.
Immunisations are available in the following locations throughout the municipality: Balla Balla Community Centre; Bunjil Place; Autumn Place Community Hub; Marriott Waters; Brentwood Park; Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre; Selandra Community Hub.
Pfizer and Moderna are both available for children aged six to eleven years old.
The recommended interval is eight weeks between doses but can be shortened to three weeks for Pfizer and four weeks for Moderna, under special circumstances.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only one available to children aged five-years-old. No vaccines are licenced to be given to thos aged four-years-old or younger.
