Learning road safety

STUDENTS at a Narre Warren South school dressed up as school crossing helpers as they visited the Casey Road Safety Education Centre.
The Grade 1 and 2 students from Heritage College learnt about road safety in the purpose-built centre which is a mini version of local roads and bicycle trails, with cycling and walking tracks, road signs, traffic lights, a roundabout and school crossings.
The students also attended the CFA Learning Centre, which is a simulated home environment delivering a fire safety educational program by the CFA.
The initiative is designed to enable students to demonstrate strategies that deal with unsafe or emergency situations.
