Pet care means the full package

DOG owners are being urged to clean up their dog’s poo.
A responsible pet owner cleans up after dogs, whether it is in a private backyard or local park, Casey Council’s engineering and environment manager David Richardson said.
“Dog poo contains a lot of bacteria, and sometimes roundworm, which can be harmful to humans, or washed down our drains and into our waterways causing health concerns,” he said.
Under the council’s local law, dog owners can be fined $500 if they are caught leaving their dog’s poo in a public place.
Owners are urged to keep plastic bags, preferably biodegradable ones, trowels or pooper scoopers with them on their walks with their dog.
Dog poo can be disposed of in residents’ domestic waste bins, a dog litter bin, certain types of worm farms or compost bins. Dog waste bags and bins are located at Ray Bastin Reserve, Narre Warren; Sydney Pargeter Reserve, Endeavour Hills; and Wilson Botanic Park, Berwick.
