School cash flows

By Lia Bichel
MILLIONS of dollars have been poured into primary schools in the Narre Warren South electorate, thanks to the Primary Schools for the 21st Century program.
Schools in the local area have been granted a total of $24 million in rounds one and two of the program.
Some $3 million has been allocated for multi-purpose rooms in Hallam Valley Primary School, Courtenay Gardens Primary School, Kilberry Valley Primary School, Brentwood Park Primary School, Coral Park Primary School and Fountain Gate Primary School.
Narre Warren South P-12 College and ICA college each received $2 million for a multi-purpose room.
Another $3 million was allocated for library and classrooms at Trinity Catholic Primary School, and $2 million for teaching rooms at Heritage Christian College.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley said last week, the schools were enjoying a record amount of funding.
“This is a fantastic time for local schools. The partnership between the Rudd and Brumby Labor Governments delivers the biggest investment in Victorian schools in the state’s history, at more than $2.5 billion.”
The State Budget includes $402 million to rebuild, renovate or extend schools across the state.
“This investment does not only provide modern school infrastructure for our local community, it also creates jobs,” Ms Graley said.
