THE Hallam Red Cross celebrated the big 3-0 on 15 June with cake, a guest speaker and a reunion.
Thirty-eight guests, including members from the past three decades, gathered at the Hallam Community Centre.
Among the guests were Dorothy Hodson and Ann Rottier who attended the inaugural meeting on 13 June 1979.
Ms Rottier was presented with a 30 years’ long service bar, and president Josephine Thompson received a 20 years’ long service bar.
Service co-ordinator of the Red Cross Gippsland region Brian Soall was the guest speaker at the event. He spoke of his experience and involvement during the Victorian bushfires.
An afternoon tea followed the speech, with Ms Rottier given the honour of cutting the cake.
