Lights are a priority says VicRoads

INSTALLING traffic lights at a fatal Lynbrook intersection is a “very high priority” for VicRoads.
VicRoads did not give a timeframe on the installation of the lights, but regional director for metropolitan south east Duncan Elliott said surveyors had already been on-site at the corner of Ormond and Hallam roads for preliminary works.
“Installing traffic lights is a complex job and is likely to take a couple of months’ planning,” Mr Elliott said.
The speed limit on Hallam Road was changed from 80km/h to 70km/h on 10 July, the day of the second fatality at the intersection.
Warning signs will be installed within two weeks.
VicRoads said during the last five years up to December 2008 there had been 15 crashes at the intersection, including seven that caused serious injury.
