After so long on the sidelines due to Covid restrictions, the Berwick/Upper Beaconsfield Friends of Red Cross in conjunction with the Friendship Group of St. Andrew’s were able to hold a very successful day in the Fellowship Room of St. Andrew’s Uniting Church on Wednesday 17th August. The rain held off and 60 ladies arrived at 10:30am to enjoy the parade of Cliche Fashions by our five models – Jill Laidley, Lorraine Hollow, Helen Baird, Monique Churchill and Lorna Proctor.

Lovely new season clothes as well as some special end of winter bargains to view and to purchase.

At the conclusion of the parade the ladies then enjoyed a lunch of delicious sandwiches, hot snacks and home made cakes.

Our raffle and trading table with home made jams, craft items and jewellery also contributed to a very successful result in raising $1170.

Over the last two to three years the restrictions on meetings and activities has seen a drop in the number of volunteers, so we would welcome anyone with some time to spare to join us.

Our next fundraising effort will be a Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Fountain Gate on Saturday 8 October followed by a High Tea in November and a Street Stall in the main street of Berwick on Saturday 3 December.

We are also back doing teas, coffees and snacks at the Blood Bank at Narre Warren North Community Centre – next dates for the Blood Bank at Narre Warren North are Monday 29th August through to Friday 2nd September .
